Thanks you Heidi and Kim!

Luckily I am not bothered by beans either! (When my mom comes to visit she always brings her Beano although I am not sure it does much. But she knows she'll be eating more beans with us!)

But for anyone, eating more fiber rich foods than you are used to can cause some distress. But it isn't a reason to not do it, is it? At Weight Watchers, they warn you that when you start focusing on eating more fruits and vegetables, that you may experience some side effects. But that your body will get used to it.

I get frustrated with all these people, especially celiac 'specialists' and dietitians saying that the gluten free diet is low in fiber - only if you focus on low-nutrition 'junk' foods to substitute the gluten containing items. If you focus on eating real foods, you won't be lacking in fiber. A fiber post is in the making....

Thanks again!

Hi Renee!

Great post! I am not a vegetarian but you have me thinking about how much protein I consume a day! I have to admit, that ever since you turned me onto "The Daily Bean," I am BEYOND FULL every moment of every day... with all the protein and fiber (and Iron, etc.) in beans (I'm one of the lucky ones that is not "bothered" by beans ;-) ), that I hardly want meat anymore! You are so correct about how eating the right, balanced and nutritious whole foods can leave a person very satisfied while meeting our body's core nutritional needs.

I FEEL great! :-)

Keep up the great work, love your blog!!
