I hooked you up to the GF Swap. I poked around your blog and am very excited to try the Thai Tomato Soup. It sounds so yummy.

No worries about not "following" the theme ingredient. It's just something to make it a little more fun, to spark some ideas when we are menu planning.

Hope you can join us again! Your blog is looking great. Keep up the great posts. :-)

Hi Sara - By law, since 2006, wheat must be labeled if it is a component of a starch in a product. Check out this: http://americanceliac.org/wp-content/uploads/docs/ACDA%20Food%20Labeling%20Fact%20Sheet%2011-05Final.pdf
And cornstarch is gluten free. A gluten containing ingredient that could be hidden in a food would be barley which usually comes in the form of malt or malt flavoring and usually labeled clearly as malt. Sometimes barley will periodically hide in natural flavorings but these days they usually label it as such because of all the gluten free calls they are getting. The one big one I know of is one brand of butterscotch chips have barley in their flavorings but is labeled as such.
This is another good resource for ingredient information.
http://www.glutenfreeliving.com/ingredient.php
Personally I avoid the Yoplait's and other yogurts with all the added sugars and ingredients and go for the real stuff. I prefer Greek yogurt and add my own honey as a sweetener. But that can be an acquired taste.
Let me know if she has any more questions. Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Renee,

It's Sara B. This comment isn't in the correct spot, so sorry if it slops up you blog! I have a friend who has a question about finding good, gluten-free yogurts. Is there something in some yogurts that has contains gluten? I think that her question had to do with the starches (corn starch?). As always, thank you for your help!
