Hey Shirley -
Yep, I spent time as publicity chair, then vice president, then president, as well as doing the newsletter and organizing the annual walk for the local support group as well as helping the UCCDC - those were some busy times and I enjoyed it but have stepped back and taken a break from doing so much. We also moved across the country three years ago and I only just started going to our local group here this year. It feels good to get back involved (and here in the blogging world), but I know my limits now! :-)
I never met Carol, she was after my time with them, but I worked with and knew the first Director quite well.
Thanks for stopping by!

Excellent post, Renee! I had no idea about your background as a support group leader and working with UCCDC ... that's terrific! :-) I have long admired UCCDC and shared their info (e.g., celiac fact sheets) with so many. It was exciting to meet Carol Shilson and hear about Dr. Nabri's research when I took part in the General Mills Bloggers Summit. Yes, UCCDC is definitely a charity that deserves our support!
